Dione has spent most of her life a part of the human world. Sure, a lot of times her kind tended to stay more away from the human and even the wizarding world, but Dione wasn't like that. It was found that when she was young that she had a particular knack for magic even above the connection her kind has with the earth. She was even invited to attend Ilvermorny when she was 12 years old. She went to school and was sorted into Pukwudgie. She did decently in her classes but found that unsurprisingly she did better in classes such as Herbology, COMC, and even potions. The classes where there were physical things rather than just calculated movements controlling everything. That was some time ago, though.

After graduating, she went on to study at the wizarding university, studying herbology as well as teaching. Then she spent some time in the muggle world, running a greenhouse in a small town for as many years as she was able before people began to realize that she didn't age like the rest of them did. Then she would have to move on and start all over again. This happened so many times throughout the years, and it saddened her every time that she had to leave her beloved plants behind. Finally, she decided to head back to the wizarding world where she wouldn't have to hide who or what she was. She moved to England, set down roots there.

And things had been nice since then. She ran her own greenhouse and then eventually a shop in Diagon Alley selling her plants she had grown for potions ingredients and just for decoration. It was only when she was approached this year from someone at Hogwarts, offering her the position of herbology professor. She was hesitant to agree but had been able to find someone to watch her shop for her, moving most of her plants to the greenhouse on Hogwarts grounds. She is still new to the whole teaching thing but she is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to just about any plant and its usage.
