Not my scene (open)

To say that Athena found something like a Yule Ball to be a waste of her time would be a complete and total understatement. But after the excitement of the last school event, she had decided that she would go. Even if that meant that she was going to the event by herself. It didn't matter. She was just going to see if anything else interesting would happen. Maybe it was cutting into her studying time, but she was already ahead in her classes. And her mother had been quite thrilled when she had written to her asking her to send a dress. Not that the dress was anything that she would ever actually choose to wear. At least her mother had listened and not sent her anything extravagant. The heels were still a pain.

She stood near the refreshments table, watching everything going on around her. If nothing exciting happened soon, she would probably just head out...
