Re: sorting hat archives
Here she was in the moment that would certainly set up the path for the rest of her life: house sorting. Aeris had hear about how much of a big deal it was on the train, so she had quite a bit of nerves as her name was called up. Don't make a fool. Don't be a fool. She took a seat as she waited for the hat to be placed on her head. "Please know that I don't want to be a loser," Aeris whispered as she crossed her fingers.

Athena hid her nerves well as she kept her head held high and her shoulders thrown back in the perfect posture that her mother demanded from her. She knew where she wanted to be, knew where she thought that she belonged... But there was always the chance that the hat would think otherwise. She could only hope that the hat would see that she belonged there as well. She had the desire to succeed, to do whatever it took to get where she wanted to be. But would that be enough to get her in Slytherin? Was she willing to be cunning and use others for her own gain if the need arose? You better believe she was. There was still just that little bit of worry, though, as she took a seat on the stool and the hat was placed on her head.

Jodie didn't get the front-of-the-room experience when she had her sorting. They just had a separate room for her, seeing as she started in fourth year. The hat was put on her, and she had a little conversation in her head with it.
So hat, hey, by the way, I'm Jo. So listen don't put me with all the stuck-up barbies. I want somewhere where people actually have a sense of humour. Wise cracks included. What do Brits call it 'bantAH'?! Yeah, put me there.
She waited impatiently.

Even from her very young age, she knew how to play a crowd. So, from the time she stepped onto the train, she was making connections. She talked to all of the other first years, seeming to try to set their minds at ease and to make them feel more comfortable where some of them seemed downright nervous. It was what she did, she made connections, she cultivated followers. She would make them love her so that they would defend her if she needed it, so that they would back her if she ever needed it. That was the plan, and it seemed to be working rather well.
The train ride was all too short, though. And before she knew it she was standing in line waiting to be sorted into the house where she would spend her years at school. Where would she fit in? She hoped for Slytherin if she was being honest, a noble house where she would be supported in her success. But honestly, the only house she didn't want to be in was Hufflepuff. She didn't want to be seen as weak, Hufflepuff was just a house where students who didn't have greatness were thrown. They were the extras. Gabriella wasn't that. She continued to chat with her newfound 'friends' as she waited and then stepped forward with confidence when her name was called.

Re: sorting hat archives
There it was. The Sorting Hat. Her name had been called, and she was as nervous as can be; Aquila was sad to be away from her siblings and was worrying about them as she made it up to be sorted. She looked around seeing the faces of all the older children wanting to know which house the eldest Malfoy child would be sorted into. "Hello, hat," she whispered softly as her hands began to sweat. "When my siblings come, please make sure I can watch them..."
Hopefully this wasn't as nerve wracking as it felt...

Re: sorting hat archives
The whole idea of Hogwarts had annoyed Danae, because she missed Mageia. The warm waters, and the Quidditch Pitch actually looked like they gave a crap. She really hated this school, and the fact her sorting is happening in front of a whole school pissed her off. Although she liked to show people just who was better than half the school, and when her name was called, the girl walked up.
Taking a seat, the hat was placed on her head, and she tried not to be embarrassed. Giving all the students a evil smirk as she looked down at them. Mageia was so much better.
